Glenkeen Garden Residencies
About
ArtNature/NatureArt
The programme ‘Glenkeen Garden Residencies – ArtNature/NatureArt’ aims to support the development of artists based in Europe while boosting their international recognition.
During the multi-month residencies, the artists engage in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary exchange on the relationship between humans, art and nature. They are encouraged to draw on a local network of humanities scholars and scientists.
The outcomes of the residencies are presented through the exhibition series ‘The Glenkeen Variations’ and accompanying events: in Ireland at the Goethe-Institut Dublin and at Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre in Skibbereen, and in Germany at the Crespo Open Space in Frankfurt am Main.
The next call for applications for the 2028/29 residencies is expected to be published here in 2027.
‘A garden is a collection, a story-composition unfolding through time with the dramaturgy only partially controlled by the playwright. And like every good story, it varies by the perspective of the reader.’
